Goal #101 – Get the house painted (in progress)
Margo needs a home…Ashley needs a home…
One thing I know well about my self is that I have a bottomless heart for dogs and cats. If I could adopt every single cat and dog that is in need of a home that would truly make me a very happy person. But then reality kicks in and I wake up from my lovely pet filled dream and realize that it probably will never happen. However, what if I could just adopt one? Give that one lucky puppy/doggy a home in our cozy little home and give them eternal love… now doesn’t that sound like an awesome plan (I think so too).
Completely Random Thoughts…

Romantically Challenged by Beth Orsoff
Think your love life is rotten? Meet Julie Burns, an L.A. entertainment lawyer who after being dumped and disgraced by her ex-boyfriend is now re-entering dating hell. All because she wants to find that one elusive commodity: a decent guy…who steals her heart, of course.
Nurse Poontater
It has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?
I always knew I wanted to do something in the medical field. Growing up, I wanted to be a Brain Surgeon (no joke), but once I grew up and realized that it would take about 14 years and about quarter of a million in debt, so I had a reality check. In 2005 I went to school to get certified as a Paramedic, but during one of my EMT rotations I fell in love with being in the ER and decided that I wanted to pursue being a Nurse instead (plus it has much better pay and hours). I took my state exam and received my EMT certification, but never made it back to school. I truly regret not going to college right out of high school (you would be amazed at how much you forget in a few years).
So now I am trying to get back in school while working full time. My current plan is to get certified as a Medical Assistant with the hopes of working in an ER and getting the hospital I would work for to pay for my Nursing School (I would commit a certain amount of years to the hospital it self in payback for them paying for my school), but not only would I continue working as a Medical Assistant (gaining knowledge), most hospitals are also very flexible with school schedules.
It is now or never… must get my butt in gear and accomplish this one goal that would mean soooo much to me.
Goal # 86 – Try 5 new restaurants (4/5)
This was a while back, but I completely forgot to write about it;
SRR came home one night and told me that he had eaten the best food EVER and would not stop telling me about it all weekend. So I decided to give it a try. It is an Ethiopian Restaurant called Aster’s Ethiopian Restaurant and it was truly delicious and the whole experience was AWESOME. Your meal comes on a big plate (you can choose to do family style) which is served on the same plate and it comes with 3 sides each. I had #5 Tibbs and SRR had #2 Alicha Siga and they were both really good. The whole meal is eaten with traditional Ethiopian bread called injera. If you have not tried Ethiopian food before and you are feeling adventuress one day, I would highly recommend checking out Aster’s.
Goal #44 – Get in touch with an old friend
Ok Ok… technically she found me, but I have been sooo happy for the past few days. My best friend (for which I have lost contact about 13 years ago) found me on Facebook. Her name is Secil and she is an absolutely amazing person. When I saw her message to me on Facebook it brought tears to my eyes and we picked up on things like we saw eachother yesterday. I cannot wait to go back to Turkey so we can catch up in person and fill in the past 13 years of our lives.
And with that said… Goal# 44 is being marked off.
Goal # 86 – Try 5 new restaurants (3/5)
We went to McCormick & Schmick’s for Mother’s Day dinner and it was absolutely delicious. I got the Ribeye Steak (perfectly cooked), Rob tried the Scallops (he said it was the best he has ever had), Marie tried the Pecan crusted cat fish and Perry had the rainbow trout… followed by upside down Apple Pie and Cinnamon Ice-Cream.
They offer a new menu everyday featuring the catch of the day and I would highly recommend the restaurant to everyone. It was YUMMY!!!
Happy Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mother’s out there.

Perfect Match by Jodi Picoult
Nina, Caleb and Nathaniel Frost are the typical happy American family. Nina is an assistant district attorney in York County, Maine. Caleb is a stone worker, happy to let Nina be the main breadwinner in the family. Nathaniel is the poster boy of a contented five-year-old at least he is until the day he stops talking and nobody understands why. A physical exam shows that the little boy has been sexually abused. At first, using sign language and hand motions, Nathaniel names his father as the culprit, but later it becomes clear that Nathaniel meant Father as in their parish priest. The cleric is arrested but Nina, not allowing Nathaniel to testify in court, takes justice into her own hands and puts further strain on the Frost family. PERFECT MATCH is a chilling tale focusing in on one of humanity’s worst crimes, sexual abuse against children, and how different people deal with the after effects. Jodi Picoult demonstrates how deep a mother’s love can go and how far she will go to prevent her child from further harm. There are no easy answers to the issues this book raises but then there shouldn’t be.
