Happy Anniversary!
Today is 10 years since Sir Robbie Rob and poontater starting dating. They fell in love, adopted a cat named Lenny, moved in together, bought a house, got engaged and married, adopted a dog named Sugar (aka baby girl), sold their house and moved to North Carolina.
I feel like the luckiest person alive. To be able to wake up to the one I love more then ever, to be with my best friend everyday, to be able to share the ups and downs of life with my soulmate is the most amazing feeling in the world. I hope that every single one of you get to experience at least a bit of how I feel everyday. That is pretty much the past 10 years in a nut shell.
Yeah we have had our ups and downs and cannot always say that the past 10 years have been the easiest or the most pleasant at times, but I would not change a single moment. Everything we have been through has made us who we are today and has made our relationship that much stronger.
Happy Anniversary Honey! I love you with all my heart!
Goal #91 – Carve a Pumpkin for the first time
I know that a lot of you were surprised that I had never carved a pumpkin. But for those who know me well, also know that I was raised in Turkey, where we don’t celebrate Halloween or carve pumpkins. So here I am at age 27 and I carved my first ever pumpkin and enjoyed every second of it.
First – the perfect Pumpkin
Then comes the carving
Masterpiece
The Insides
And there you have it. Poontater’s first pumpkin Masterpiece!
Goal #11 – Read one book a month for a year 9/12
I have been terrible about updating my blog with my 101 Goals. So you might see a few one after another in the next few days.
I borrowed Secret Life of Cee Cee Wilkes from my friend Stephanie as a quick read and I loved it.
Twenty-eight years ago a North Carolina governor’s young, pregnant wife was kidnapped. Now her remains have been found and a man charged with her murder. Only one person — CeeCee Wilkes — can refute the charges against him. But CeeCee disappeared years ago . . .Eve Elliott is a successful therapist to troubled students, a loving wife, a mother deeply invested in her family. But her happiness is built on a lie. When she was a lonely, vulnerable young woman, a single decision made in innocence led to a dark night of unimaginable consequences. Now, forced to confront her past, she faces another terrible choice: reveal to her family that she is not who she seems, or allow a man to take the blame for a crime she knows he did not commit. If the choice affected only her life, Eve is certain she would do what is right. But though inaction means condemning an innocent man, it also means protecting her family from the mistakes of her past.
Corinne Elliott has always known she was different: the only redhead in a family of brunettes, the paralyzing shyness that contrasts with her sister’s vivaciousness, the many fears — of highways, of bridges, of public spaces — that constrict her daily life. Still, with a new job possibility and a baby on the way, she’s found some measure of happiness — until the day she turns on the television and finds her mother’s image on-screen.
Now, as the past explodes into the present, Corinne must confront the secrets she has always intuited, and find answers from the one person who knows the truth of what happened two decades ago
Farmer’s Market
Mom and Perry came in town to help me celebrate turning 27. We have been wanting to check out the Farmer’s Market since we arrived in NC, but it took us 3 weeks to actually make our way there. We started the day with some yummy breakfast at a restaurant at the Farmer’s Market (the name slips my mind) and enjoyed some good old southern food. After stuffing our faces, we made our way to the Farmer’s Market. Everything was so fresh and people were so nice. I felt like I needed to/wanted to buy everything I saw – then had to remind my self that we now live here and the Farmer’s Market is open 7 days a week.
Check out some of the Freshness… and vibrant colors…

Ahhh the the big PUMPKIN’s they had were AWESOME!!!
They have a crafty section as well, which is where we found this awesome swing (that I happen to think would look GREAT on our patio)… he he
ENJOY!!!
Oh My God!!! This is too Funny…
Saying goodbye to 26…
Yup, in about 6 hours I will turn 27. This past year has a lot of challenges and I feel like I have accomplished most of my goals and have grown beyond my imagination as a person. I love who I am today, more then I think I have in many years and for that I am sooooo grateful for many of the special people in my life.
I will update tomorrow and let you all know how being 27 feels like… but for now I need to get dressed to head out to get some YUMMY food.
Did you know?
- 983,000 babies died in 1996, from miscarriage and stillbirth.
- In 1995, 15.7% of pregnancies ended in fetal demise, miscarriage or stillbirth.
- Those figures don’t include neonatal loss, SIDS, or other causes.*

As excited as I was to leave my last job, looking for a new one compleletly sucks monkey ballz.
You really need to have some thick skin when you are in the process of searching for a new job, cause MAN it sucks when you either don’t hear anything back or you are told you are not good enough to be hired for a certain position. It eats you a part little by little…
It has only been two weeks since I started looking for a job full-time and I have managed to score only 2 interviews. I mean I know that the state of the economy is not helping things, but it still sucks monkey ballz…
Well, I better get back to polishing up my resume and keep sending it out. Wish me luck!
